Bestselling authors Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward, comes the first book in a new, sexy duet.
How to kick off a great summer in the Hamptons:
Snag a gorgeous rental on the beach. Check.
Get a job at a trendy summer haunt. Check.
How to screw up a great summer in the Hamptons:
Fall for the one guy with a dark leather jacket, scruff on his face, and intense eyes that doesn’t fit in with the rest of the tony looking crowd. A guy you can’t have when you’ll be leaving at the end of the season.
Check. Check. Check.
I should add—especially when the guy is your sexy, tattooed God of a boss.
Especially when he not only owns your place of employment but inherited half of the town.
Especially when he’s mean to you.
Or so I thought.
Until one night when he demanded I get in his car so he could drive me home because he didn’t want me walking in the dark.
That was sort of how it all started with Rush.
And then little by little, some of the walls of this hardass man started to come down.
I never expected that the two of us, seemingly opposites from the outside, would grow so close.
I wasn't supposed to fall for the rebel heir, especially when he made it clear he didn’t want to cross the line with me.
As the temperature turned cooler, the nights became hotter. My summer became a lot more interesting—and complicated.
All good things must come to an end, right?
Except our ending was one I didn’t see coming.
Rebel Heir is the first book in the Rush Series Duet. Book Two, Rebel Heart, will release six weeks later on May, 22, 2018.

Super sexy.....All the checks!

This was everything I needed and what I love to read in a book. Vi and Penelope never cease to amaze me, i crave their books the minute they start writing the first word. But I have to say this is a top favorite for me. I was just so immersed in everything about it. The chemistry and the connection between the characters so spot on, so sizzly, so flirty. Rush and Gia are one of my favorite couples ever. I love them! This beauty releases April 9th!!
As fas as author collaborations go, Vi & Penelope just do it so well together and never cease to amaze me with what they come up with when two minds work so cohesively to bring stories like this to their readers.
Okay so we have Gia. She has dreams of being a writer and after a successful pitch to a publisher she is now working towards a deadline to write a novel. In an effort to do this she has moved to the beach to maybe draw inspiration from her environment and give her mind some creative space.
Gia also ends up working part time at a local restaurant and bar. This is how she meets Rush. Initially she has no idea who he is but when he offers her a job she figures he is her new boss. Right from the beginning these two have sparks between them. I loved the no holds barred sass that Gia dishes up to him every time they talk to each other and Rush seems to enjoy it too.
‘You think the sun comes up just to hear you crow don’t you?’
Rush is the ‘Rebel Heir’ but you could probably call him the ‘reluctant heir.’ He wasn’t born into a life of wealth and now that he has it, he doesn’t really feel all that comfortable about it. It is a bit like wearing an oversized jacket that just feels odd. Another thing too is that he has a strong moral conscious which does not always fit in the cut throat business world.
Rush also looks like a walking wet dream, he is very handsome, has sexy facial scruff, a deep sleepy voice and looks incredible in leather. Oh and he is a mumma’s boy, he loves his mum and I loved her character in this story, she is the sort of lady you hope to have as a mother in law one day.
Rush has no trouble attracting female attention but he finds lately that the only girl he wants attention from is Gia. An uncommon experience for him and he needs to explore things more with this girl. As the friendship turns into more for both of them they go into it having no idea just how complicated everything is about to become.
This is the first book in a duet and it would be fair to say that I pretty much inhaled the pages ridiculously fast and now I await closure on the cliff hanger..
5 'Damn you Vi & Penelope' Stars
Consistently I am blown away by Vi and Penelopes collaborations. So much so that I am shocked that I continue to be surprised by this, mainly due to the fact that I love both authors work equally, but for some reason when they work together, the outcome seems to be even more incredible.
This is the first by this duo that is not a stand alone, I repeat not a stand alone and boy was I left wanting the next book more than anything.
This is the story of Gia and Rush. Gia who currently living in the Hamptons while she tries to complete her obligations of a publishing deal. In order to help financially, she takes a job, somewhat less conventionally than most, at the local bar/restaurant. This is where she meets Rush, the guy most people think is a bit of a jerk.
Gia is such a sweet sassy girl and it was easy to love her. I also understand what the attraction was for Rush because he had never met a girl quite like her.
Rush for me was the hands down winner of this book. He liked to come across as a jerk and keep people at arms length, especially his women, but his walls were no match for Gia.
Now what I have to say that shocked me most about this book was that I was completely blind-sided when it came to the ultimate conclusion in this book. I mean I was seriously expecting to want the next book like my life depended on it, but something in particular I should have seen a mile off. Instead it slapped me round the face like a hardback book. But don't let my utter shock deter you from reading. I can honestly say I loved this book and all it's emotion and team that with Rush's filthy mouth and one hell of a storyline makes for a very good read indeed. But why do I have to endure such a long wait? Why did I now have to prolong that wait by reading the book in one sitting. Because I simply couldn't do anything but devour it, that's why!
This book is the definition of a book hangover!
Its 4am and I’m staring at my kindle after reading and trying to figure out how I can write a review to do this book justice. I started this book around 11pm and I had to keep reading until it was over. I HAD to know what was going to happen and who needs sleep??
Gia fills in for her friend one day at work and she meets Rush not realizing he’s the boss. Their first encounter was one for the ages. They had an immediate attraction and I loved their banter right off the bat! Rush has such an intimidating presence and such a mouth on him but there was also another side. A kinder and gentler side and I loved seeing the softer side of Rush. Gia comes off as nice and sweet but she was no nonsense and gave it straight to Rush from day one.
‘You’ve had my love since day one. You’ve had me since day one. I was just too chicken to admit it.”
*Sighs* I love when the closed off bad boy realizes he’s in love.
As the story progresses I was waiting for the other shoe to drop and when it did I was gutted. Then once my heart slowly started to heal, boom! Talk about plot twist. I don’t know how Ward and Keeland are going to outdo themselves for the next book but I am counting down the days until I can read Rebel Heart. Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland knocked it out of the park with this book! I normally don’t read a lot of author duet books but I have to say Ward and Keeland are the best hands down when it comes to co written books. The story flowed, it had me smiling, laughing out loud, clutching my heart and tearing up. May can’t get here quick enough!
Hello #hottie on the cover!! 😍
